Corrections, posted in the open
Research this size will get things wrong, and some of what it corrects will be its own. This page is where corrections live — each one stating what was said, what the record shows instead, and the paper that decides it. A claim killed by a record is a full result, not a failure, and it is posted here at the same weight as a claim proven.
Readers who hold a record that corrects anything on this site are invited to bring it forward through the Community forum when it opens. Corrections and finds published from this research carry the credit line of the work itself: Research by Larry Lorimer and Omni, his AI research assistant.

As compiled listings give it: Sallie Wysong Carey — Frank Carey's wife — died in 1978, having been born in 1908.
The record: Sallie Wysong Carey died February 9, 1976 — not 1978 as some compiled listings give. Her obituary in the Beckley Post-Herald of February 11, 1976 (“Mrs. Cary's Rites Today”) reports the funeral that day at Logan, her death the preceding Monday in a Huntington hospital, and burial at Highland Memory Gardens; it names her survivors as her husband Frank, her daughters Doris and Shirley, her brother Jim Wysong, and her sister “Mrs. Carl Cary” of Barboursville — Emma Jean, which also settles that the two Wysong wives of two Carey brothers were sisters. Her full name stands in the same item: Sallie Rebecca Cary.
