The store shelf Preview · Not for sale yet

Someday this page is the store. Tonight it's the shelf the store will have — four designs, made so the family can see them, react to them, and argue about them before a single shirt is ever printed.

Nothing here can be bought, and nothing here is promised. The shirts are print-on-demand when the time comes — printed one at a time, when somebody orders one, with no boxes of inventory sitting in a garage. These pictures are design previews, drawn up in the site's own colors: ink, gold, barn red, and cream.

Cream t-shirt: 41 HIGH STREET in barn red, Logan, West Virginia beneath

41 High Street

The house number as the whole design — barn red on cream, gold rules above and below. The sisters will know exactly what it means; everybody else will ask, and that's the point of a shirt.

Cream t-shirt: The True Story Of — A McCoy In Hatfield Country

The book-title shirt

The title the way it will sit on the cover — “The true story of” in gold over the name itself, with the red rule under it. The walking advertisement, and the tamest of the four.

Dark ink t-shirt: STATE v. CAREY in gold, Logan County 1927 beneath

State v. Carey

Gold on ink, set like a courthouse door. Chapter Nine's case as a shirt — the one for readers who finish the book and want the argument to keep going without them saying a word.

Black t-shirt: Lawrence Carey's portrait printed in sepia, Lawrence Carey 1869–1927 beneath

The portrait shirt

Lawrence himself, from the family's portrait, printed in sepia on black — name and years underneath, nothing else. The one most likely to stop a stranger in an airport and start the whole story over again.

When the book launches, this shelf becomes the store: the book itself — direct from here, signed copies included — beside these shirts, each printed when it's ordered.

Preview page for the private test. Designs are mock-ups, drawn with AI assistance in the manner of the site's illustrations; the printed shirts, when they exist, will be produced from these designs by a print-on-demand maker. No orders are taken from this page.
